Fighting Chance for Families Celebrates House Passage of the Build Back Better Act

Following the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of the Build Back Better Act on Friday, Fighting Chance for Families released the following statement:

The Build Back Better Act will provide economic relief for tens of millions of working families and local economies across the nation,” said McKenzie Wilson, spokeswoman for Fighting Chance for Families. “The extension of the expanded Child Tax Credit will ensure parents can cover rising child care costs and remain in the workforce – which is good for families and good for the economy. This passage in the House brings us closer to making the Build Back Better Act law and is a victory for working families, our economy and the Democratic party. Now we call on the Senate to move quickly to get this extension signed into law, and then we are hopeful that Congress will listen to people across the country and permanently extend this critical investment."

New Fighting Chance for Families polling finds a strong majority of voters support the expanded Child Tax Credit by a +24-point margin — including Democrats by a +65-point margin, Independents by a +18-point margin, and over a third of Republicans.

Support making the Child Tax Credit permanent.
